Our retreats
A Mindful Escape offers award winning burnout retreats in nature.
Our retreats focus on prevention and management of burnout. Burnout can occur due to many reasons and is one of the biggest and fastest growing epidemics of our time.
We focus our wellness retreats to look at areas of modern day life that cause burnout. Until recently it was believed that only professional life caused burnout which spilled into our personal life. However, recently more research has been done and outlined that personal burnout is just as important as professional. Our retreats have at least 3 practitioners who specialise in different areas of the journey to management and recovery - a coach, a movement specialist and a nutritionist.
Stress, anxiety and burnout - we have all been there. The niggling feeling in our stomachs, the dread about Monday morning, the desire to just drop everything and run. Stress is part of us being human. However, modern lifestyle pushes us to the brink and does not allow us enough time to regulate our stress responses and be able to regulate our nervous system. Hence why during any of the retreats we offer we focus on providing the tools for our guests to be able to do that together with us but more importantly there after, on their own.

We start by assessing your burnout levels. During the 4 days of the retreat, you will be creating a plan for the next 90 days of recovery while enjoying the program which will:

Deyana is a certified coach, who will work individually with each guest throughout the retreat, to support their burnout journey by creating a 90 day plan of action post the retreat.
What will the session look like:

Yoga
Stephanie is an award winning movement specialist, who creates the most transformational yoga experience for our guests every day. Stephanie has been practicing yoga since 2017.
Moving our bodies is such a fundamental part of our wellbeing. We often forget about that, stuck in our desk jobs, too busy to dedicate time to move.
During your Mindful Escape retreat you will spend at east 1 hour each day doing yoga with Stephanie. The sessions will be suitable for absolute beginners, as well as more advanced practitioners. Stephanie will guide each group to achieve maximum satisfaction and results.

Boundaries - how to honour ourselves
Boundaries are not walls. Boundaries are lines that define where we end and the world begins. People pleasing is one of the fastest routes to burnout if what we say yes to is not aligned with our values. Although we can pretend to be OK for a period of time, our bodies start speaking to us and if we do not listen the speaking turns into screaming. We feel under constant pressure and stress and potentially not knowing why because we have been exposed to this environment for so long we do not know what a peaceful day looks like any more.
Together we will learn how to shift this.

Self-compassion through self-care
Burnout makes it difficult to love ourselves. In this workshop we will learn to reconnect and give ourselves the care we deserve. Learn about the warning signs our bodies send us.
Too often, we go beyond our limits and push forward, forcing our body into situations it does not enjoy. Be it at the gym, at work sitting for hours on end, at home not giving enough rest, in crowded public transport etc…
We will explore the difference between self love, egoism and narcissism and where is the line drawn. Many people fear putting themselves first to avoid looking egoistic. However, endless giving away of energy is that is not aligned is self betrayal.

Meditation & Mindfulness
In our sessions we will teach our guests how to meditate successfully. Trust us, it is easier surrounded by nature and the sounds of the forrest or the sea.
The practice of mindfulness allows us to sit in the present moment. To avoid distractions. To acknowledge emotions both positive and negative, yet learning to gently push them away when they do not serve us.
We will provide 1:1 guidance to each guest who struggles with practicing meditation in their daily life, so they can take it back with them. Different approaches work for different people and our team will work with each individual to select the best way for them to practice daily, when they go back to their busy lives.
Being able to switch off, look inward and feel grounded is a gift that will allow guests to live a more fullfiling, present and less anxious life.

Discover the forgotten Power of your Breath
Breath is Life. The way you breathe is the reflection of the way you live.
During this 90-minute workshop, using our breath alongside various other tools such as sounding, touch… we will create a safe cocoon to:
Look at various breathing dysfunctions
Explore your individual breath pattern
Go into a practice to reconnect with our “baby’s breath”
Become more conscious of our bodies and breath
Liberate some of those long held emotions and patterns holding us back
Restore balance into your nervous system
Open ourselves up to receiving
Even though this is held in a group setting, deep healing can happen at an individual level, being magnified by the energy of the group.

Circle of influence
We often worry about factors in life and the world that we cannot truly influence. In this practice you will learn how to focus on actions that you have control over and not spend too much time thinking about aspects you have no control off, reducing the sense of anxiety.
This will also allow you to understand and practice management skills in your professional life, understanding when to get involved and when to take a step back during meetings, discussions and negotiations.

Learn the language of your body
Our bodies are in constant communication with us but through our busy days we push the messages away.
We will have a daily practice to learn how to listen to our bodies.
Are we tired?
Mall nourished?
Under slept?
Too stressed?
All this you can assess if you know how to listen. Our bodies are our allies, their job is simple - ensure our survival. So every message is important.

De stress with creativity
Exploring creativity is not just for artists or working with trauma. Creative outlets are great de-stressors you only need to find the one that speaks to you. During our retreat we will work with arts and crafts including painting, collaging and sculpting. These practices will help:
